Journey to the Center of the Earth DVD
I just recently snapped up Journey to the Center of the Earth DVD and Ihave to articulate it’s groovier than I expected it to be.
This 2008 movie reimagining of Jules Verne’s neoclassic science fiction fantasy book employs the 1864 narrative as a guide, with its hero, scientist Trevor Anderson, consulting to his lost brother’s notes on the book. His nephew Sean alongside, Anderson travels to Iceland to look into his sibling’s theories, engaging a fellow scientist’s daughter, Hannah, as a scout.
Journey to the Center of the Earth DVD stars the forever fantastic Brendan Fraser. It stars too the lovely Anita Briem and every bit as macho Josh Hutcherson and directed by the great Eric Brevig. The motion picture collected a healthy one hundred plus million at the ticket booth since it’s launch July 11th.
Colourful healthy fun on the wide silver screen, especially in 3D. Although only children will fall for the bloodless violence and well-worn plot points. Bredan Fraser saves his reputation as a solid, matinee-style action hero in this family tailored fantasy.
However, as it is with many of gimmick pictures, there is just not enough content to even support 90 minutes. It’s as though the Journey to the Center of the Earth DVD film producers added the 3-D ingredient because they knew the movie would be too tedious to be released on it’s own.
The overall opinion states though that progressive visuals and an old fashioned storyline make this family adventure/comedy a high-velocity, kitschy ride.
